Regular Season Round 8: Brisbane C. - NGC Seahawks 83-64

State League top team - Capitals (5-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Seahawks (2-4) in Brisbane 83-64. They outrebounded Seahawks 46-30 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Capitals brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was New Zealand forward Anna Cameron (178, college: Nevada) who scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Georgia Woolley chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Lauren Jansen (178-92) produced 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Aimee Durbidge (180, college: N.Idaho JC) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Capitals maintains first position in League with 5-1 record. Seahawks at the other side dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. Capitals' next round opponent will be Thunder (#3) in Loganholme, which may be the game of the day.
