Regular Season Round 8: Brisbane C. - NGC Seahawks 92-57

Bottom-ranked Seahawks is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to second ranked Brisbane Capitals (5-1) 92-57 on Saturday evening. Brisbane Capitals dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Seahawks' 30. Brisbane Capitals forced 25 Seahawks turnovers and outrebounded them 52-40 including 38 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Forward Jarred Bairstow (201-92, college: UCO) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Jason Cadee (186-91) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Brisbane Capitals players scored in double figures. Jesse Lomax replied with 6 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Jordi Anger added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Seahawks. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brisbane Capitals maintains second position in League with 5-1 record having just eleven point less than leader BA CoE. Loser Seahawks still closes the standings with six games lost. Brisbane Capitals will face Thunder (#10) in Loganholme in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Seahawks will play on the road against South West Metro Pirates in Runcorn and hope to get finally their first victory.
