State League top team - Wanneroo (9-1) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Lightning (6-4) in Joondalup 75-48. Wanneroo forced 21 Lightning turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Kayla Steindl (187-89, college: Gonzaga) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Her fellow American import power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: EMU) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Ashleigh Isenbarger (187-97) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Ellyce Ironmonger (193-89, college: Oregon) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wanneroo maintains first place in League with 9-1 record. Loser Lightning dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Wanneroo will meet at home Tigers (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lightning will play against Redbacks and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
