No shocking result in a game in Joondalup where third ranked Lightning (8-4) outleveled 5th ranked Wanneroo (8-4) 83-62 on Friday. They outrebounded Wanneroo 51-33 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Lightning looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Wanneroo's players. American swingman Jay Bowie (196-92, college: Marist) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard John Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Lochlan Cummings (189-95, college: HIU) with 12 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Reece Maxwell (185-90) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Lightning went down to fourth position (League) due to points difference. Lightning will face higher ranked Redbacks (#3) in Northbridge in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wanneroo will play at home against Tigers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
