Regular Season Round 2: Correcaminos - Lenadores 89-107

The game in Ciudad Victoria was also quite interesting. Lenadores played at the court of Correcaminos. Lenadores did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 107-89 on Friday. Lenadores forced 19 Correcaminos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American-Dominican Antonio Pena (204-86, college: Villanova) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. American guard Michael Smith (193-95, college: CBU) contributed with 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Lenadores' coach Juan Jose Pidal allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Dominican forward Juan Guerrero (205-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Panamanian forward Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: Southern Miss) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Correcaminos. Five Lenadores and four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Lenadores will face Plateros in Fresnillo in the next round. Correcaminos will play on the road against Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
