Regular Season Round 9: SW Metro P. - NGC Seahawks 50-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Seahawks' (3-4) road victory over 11th ranked Pirates (1-7) 65-50 on Saturday. Seahawks dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Pirates' 30. Seahawks forced 25 Pirates turnovers. Forward Emily Allen (183, college: Montana St.) stepped up and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Lauren Jansen (178-92) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Bree Farley (178-90, college: Fresno St.) with 10 points and 5 rebounds and guard Allana Gerhardt (175, college: Midway) scored 11 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Seahawks moved-up to eighth place in League. Loser Pirates keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. Seahawks will face league's second-placed Thunder in Loganholme in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pirates will play at home against Wizards (#6) and hope to win that game.
