Very expected game in Booval where 7th ranked Force (2-3) was crushed by second ranked Brisbane Spartans (6-1) 102-78 on Saturday. Brisbane Spartans dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Force's 38. Brisbane Spartans forced 24 Force turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Force's players. New Zealand forward Kalani Purcell (188-95, college: BYU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and New Zealand swingman Natalie Taylor (183-82, college: SEMO) chipped in 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Amy Lewis (175-86, college: Troy) with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Iris Cubit produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brisbane Spartans keep a position of League leader. Loser Force dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. Brisbane Spartans will face Mountaineers (#12) in Toowoomba in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Force will play at home against Rip City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
