There was no surprise in Hamilton Hill where 14th ranked Magic (1-11) was defeated by ninth ranked Cougars (5-6) 75-63 on Saturday. Cougars outrebounded Magic 47-36 including 36 on the defensive glass. Swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: UWG) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks for the winners and guard Seva Chan (187-94) chipped in 11 points and 7 assists. Cougars' coach used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Josh Hunt (179) with 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Tom Atkinson (198-98) scored 6 points and 9 rebounds. Cougars maintains ninth place in League with 5-6 record. Loser Magic keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Cougars will face league's second-placed Hawks in Floreat in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
