Not a big story in a game in Bunbury where 12th ranked Slammers (2-10) were defeated by fifth ranked Wanneroo (8-4) 79-67 on Saturday. Guard Lochlan Cummings (189-95, college: HIU) stepped up and scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Filipino swingman Seb Salinas (188-85) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. Four Wanneroo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Mitch Keller (203-96, college: Delta St.) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and guard Brody England (191-99) scored 19 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Wanneroo maintains fifth place in League with 8-4 record. Loser Slammers keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. Wanneroo will face Tigers (#6) in Willetton in the next round. Slammers will play on the road against Buccaneers (#10) in Wonthella and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
