Regular Season Round 2: Abejas - Libertadores 97-101

An interesting game for Libertadores which played road game in Guanajuato against Abejas. Libertadores managed to get a 4-point victory 101-97. Libertadores made 19-of-20 charity shots (95.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was guard Stedmon Lemon (198-92, college: JCSU) who scored 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-88, college: Stillman) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Forward Leron Black (201-96, college: Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and Onzie Branch (201-91, college: Gardner-Webb) added 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Four Libertadores and five Abejas players scored in double figures. Libertadores' next round opponent will be Soles in Mexicali where they are favorite. Abejas will play on the road against Astros in Guadalajara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
