Bottom-ranked Sayago managed to get a second victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Tuesday night. This time they won against tenth-ranked Danubio in Montevideo 100-91. Sayago looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Power forward Nahuel Lemos (205-99) fired 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: UW-Parkside) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Swingman Matias Nicoletti (193-94) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Howard Wilkerson (199-84, college: Wofford) added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sayago (2-5) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Tabare and Verdirrojo. Loser Danubio dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Sayago will meet Verdirrojo (#11) in the next round. Danubio's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Lagomar.
