An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Aguascalientes. Top-ranked Aaguacateros faced one of their biggest challengers Panteras. Guests from Michoacan (4-0) defeated host Panteras (2-2) 90-84. Strangely Panteras outrebounded Aaguacateros 39-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American center Jerome Meyinsse (208-88, college: Virginia) who scored that evening 21 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Donald Sims (180-87, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 20 points. Aaguacateros' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds by American power forward Will Artino (211-92, college: Creighton) did not help to save the game for Panteras. The former international Fabian Jaimes (198-92) added 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for lost side. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. Aaguacateros have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Panteras at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. Aaguacateros' next round opponent will be Soles (#3) in Mexicali, which may be the game of the day. Panteras will play on the road against Abejas in Guanajuato and hope to win that game.
