Sixth-ranked Fuerza Regia (0-3) was very close to win a game against first ranked Lenadores (4-1) in Durango on Tuesday. Lenadores managed to secure only three-point victory 90-87. However their fans expected much easier game. The former international point guard Gabriel Giron (192-88) nailed 20 points for the winning side and American-Dominican Antonio Pena (204-86, college: Villanova) accounted for 17 points. American point guard Jaron Martin (178-94, college: UC Irvine) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Nigerian-American power forward OD Anosike (203-91, college: Siena) added 21 points and 8 assists respectively for Fuerza Regia in the defeat. Five Lenadores and four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Lenadores maintains first place with 4-1 record, which they share with Aaguacateros and Mineros. Loser Fuerza Regia still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Correcaminos. Lenadores will again meet at home Fuerza Regia (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Fuerza Regia will have a break next round.
