Regular Season Round 5: Stal Ostrow - Start 79-74

An interesting game took place in Ostrow Wlkp. where 4th placed Start (4-2) was upset on the court of ninth ranked BM Slam Stal (3-2) 79-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Start. American guard Christopher Smith (193-94, college: Utah St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. His fellow American import point guard James Florence (185-88, college: Mercer) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four BM Slam Stal players scored in double figures. Kacper Borowski (205-94) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Kamil Laczynski (183-89) added 15 points in the effort for Start. Start's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BM Slam Stal have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with GTK Gliwice and Trefl. Start at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. BM Slam Stal's next round opponent will be Trefl (#8) in Sopot. Start will play on the road against HydroTruck Radom (#11) and hope to win that game.
