Regular Season Round 7: Panteras - Libertadores 89-93

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Panteras (3-4) against fifth ranked Libertadores (3-4) on Saturday night. Host Panteras were defeated by Libertadores in a tough game in Aguascalientes 89-93. Libertadores dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Panteras' 46. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for Jordan Adams (196-94, college: UCLA) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-88, college: Stillman) helped adding 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side power forward Will Artino (211-92, college: Creighton) responded with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) scored 22 points. Four Libertadores and five Panteras players scored in double figures. Libertadores moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Panteras and Plateros. Libertadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Panteras will play again against Libertadores (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
