Regular Season Round 4: Haneda Vickies - Eneos S. 69-98

WJBL top team - Eneos S. (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Haneda Vickies (0-4) in Tokyo 98-69. Eneos S. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Haneda Vickies' 26. They outrebounded Haneda Vickies 45-33 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Eneos S. players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Haneda Vickies' players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-93, college: Queens, NY) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 assists. International center Kadysha Umezawa (189-98) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Eneos S. players scored in double figures. Swingman Ogasawara Mina (177-97) replied with 15 points and guard Hikaru Jikumaru (167-97) added 9 points in the effort for Haneda Vickies. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Eneos S. have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position in East with 4-0 record, which they share with Hitachi Cougars. Haneda Vickies at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Eneos S.'s next round opponent will be Niigata R. (#6) in Tokyo where they are favorite. Haneda Vickies will play at home against the league's second-placed Hitachi Cougars and hope to get finally their first victory.
