LNBP top team - Aaguacateros (7-1) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Abejas (1-7) in Michoacan 88-83. Strangely Abejas outrebounded Aaguacateros 44-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American players dominated also this game. Guard Donald Sims (180-87, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 4 assists. Center Jerome Meyinsse (208-88, college: Virginia) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Aaguacateros' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Terrell Carter-II (208-95, college: Fresno St., agency: Haylett Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and guard Bo Spencer (185-89, college: Nebraska) added 26 points and 6 assists in the effort for Abejas. Four Abejas players scored in double figures. They have a solid three-game winning streak. Aaguacateros maintains first position with 7-1 record, which they share with Mineros. Abejas lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Aaguacateros will face Libertadores (#4) in Queretaro in the next round. Abejas will play at home against the league's second-placed Soles and hope to win that game.
