An interesting game for Soles (5-3) which hosted in Mexicali one of their biggest challengers Astros (4-4). Second ranked Soles managed to get a 10-point victory 95-85. Soles looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by international guard Luke Martinez (190-90, college: Wyoming, agency: Pro Sports) who scored that evening 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and American Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Inception Sports) supported him with 27 points. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 21 points by American Brandon Robinson (196-89, college: Clayton St.) did not help to save the game for Astros. American-Puerto Rican guard Isaac Sosa-Carrion (191-90, college: Canisius) added 19 points for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Astros' coach Sergio Valdeolmillos tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Soles maintains second position with 5-3 record having just two points less than leader Mineros, which they share with Lenadores. Loser Astros keep the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Libertadores. Soles will meet Abejas (#6) in the next round. Astros will have a break next round.
