ASEFA Estudiantes used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Lugo 83-71 on Sunday night. ASEFA Estudiantes dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Maquinaria Ensino's 22 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Arica Carter (173-96, college: Louisville) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import Leslie Knight (184-86, college: Minnesota) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Merritt Hempe (190-94, college: Georgia) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Vega Gimeno (185-91, college: RMU) added 16 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. Maquinaria Ensino's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. ASEFA Estudiantes will meet Promete in the next round. Maquinaria Ensino will play against IDK Eustotren and hope to win that game.
