Regular Season Round 1: Gomel - Tsmoki-Minsk 44-100

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Gomel at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Tsmoki-Minsk 100-44. The game without a history. Tsmoki-Minsk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gomel to just 6 points in third quarter. Tsmoki-Minsk held Gomel to an opponent 19.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.2 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Gomel 54-38 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tsmoki-Minsk looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Yana Makutsa (196-4) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Ekaterina Karchevskaya (188-98, college: Cent Arkansas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Tsmoki-Minsk players scored in double figures. Tsmoki-Minsk's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Maryna Rakauskaya-Minkevich (173-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and forward Anna Hatskevich (180-92) added 8 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Gomel. Tsmoki-Minsk is looking forward to face Victoria in Grodno in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gomel will play on the road against BDU Tsmoki in Minsk and is hoping to win this game.
