The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Mineros (7-2) in Monterrey on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Fuerza Regia (2-5) 91-81. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Mineros. Fuerza Regia made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Nigerian-American power forward OD Anosike (203-91, college: Siena) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Jaron Martin (178-94, college: UC Irvine) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas, agency: Best of You Sports) with 24 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import center Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Interperformances) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Mineros' coach Allans Colon rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fuerza Regia maintains fifth place with 2-5 record. Mineros at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Fuerza Regia are looking forward to face Correcaminos (#6) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round. Mineros will have a break next round.
