Regular Season Round 3: Valencia - Zaragoza 83-50

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Zaragoza (0-1) on the court of Valencia. Visitors were rolled over by Valencia 83-50. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Zaragoza's 26. Valencia forced 20 Zaragoza turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American-Belgian center Celeste Trahan-Davis (186-85, college: ECSU, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 17 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). The former international swingman Queralt Casas (177-92) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Valencia players scored in double figures. American-Montenegrin center Markeisha Gatling (196-92, college: NC State) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Taylor Wurtz (183-90, college: Wisconsin) added 8 points in the effort for Zaragoza. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia will play against Clarinos (#5) in San Cristobal in the next round. Zaragoza will play at home against Socinsa Bembibre (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
