Regular Season Round 1: Osasco - Corinthians 89-87

A very close game took place in Osasco (derby !!!) between Osasco and Corinthians. Osasco got a very close home victory over Corinthians. Osasco managed to escape with a 2-point win 89-87 on Saturday evening. Osasco forced 22 Corinthians turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Marcello Gomes (175-66, college: OKBU) nailed 19 points and 8 assists for the winning side and forward Everton Oliveira (203-93) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Lucas Vezaro (188-96) came up with 24 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) and forward Lucas Siewert (208-97, college: Colorado) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Corinthians in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Osasco will meet at home Pinheiros in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Corinthians will have a break next round.
