Regular Season Round 10: Correcaminos - Plateros 79-93

Bottom-ranked Correcaminos (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 93-79 loss to fourth ranked Plateros (5-5) in Ciudad Victoria. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Correcaminos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Argentinian forward Alejandro Diez (201-87) notched 15 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Puerto Rican Gilberto Clavell (200-89, college: SHSU) supported him with 15 points. Four Plateros players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds by Dominican forward Juan Guerrero (205-93) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos. American guard Jeff Early (190-88, college: SIU) added 23 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Correcaminos' coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Plateros maintains fourth position with 5-5 record. Correcaminos at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Plateros' next round opponent will be league's leader Mineros in Zacatecas and it may be the game of the week. Correcaminos will play on the road against Lenadores (#3) in Durango and hope to get finally their first victory.
