There was no surprise in Guadalajara where 5th ranked Panteras (3-7) were defeated by third ranked Astros (6-4) 93-88. Astros shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The former international Hector Hernandez (206-85, college: Fresno St., agency: BeoBasket) notched 14 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and American-Puerto Rican guard Isaac Sosa-Carrion (191-90, college: Canisius) supported him with 16 points. Astros' coach Sergio Valdeolmillos used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even 26 points and 6 rebounds by American center Isaiah Austin (216-93, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Panteras. Puerto Rican-Dominican forward Jose Rodriguez (201-92, college: TSU) added 18 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Astros maintains third position with 6-4 record having just three points less than leader Mineros, which they share with Lenadores. Panteras lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Astros' next round opponent will be league's leader Aaguacateros in Michoacan and it will be for sure the game of the week. Panteras will play on the road against the league's second-placed Soles (#2) in Mexicali and hope to win that game.
