The game in Hafnarfjordur was also quite interesting. Breidablik (1-2) played at the court of Haukar (2-1). Haukar defeated Breidablik 63-51 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Haukar. Breidablik managed to win fourth quarter 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Haukar dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Breidablik's 12. They outrebounded Breidablik 46-32 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Alyesha Lovett (183-93, college: Cincinnati) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. International forward Eva Kristjansdottir (180-97) accounted for 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. The former international forward Isabella Sigurdardottir (184-97) came up with 3 points and 13 rebounds and American point guard Jessie Loera (168-97, college: Gonzaga) added 8 points and 8 assists respectively for Breidablik in the defeat. Haukar will meet Fjolnir in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Breidablik will play against Keflavik (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
