Regular Season Round 5: Fujitsu RW - Chanson V-M 67-49

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kawasaki. Third ranked Fujitsu RW faced 4th placed Chanson V-M. Host Fujitsu RW (4-2) defeated guests from Shizuoka (2-4) 67-49. The best player for the winners was international point guard Rui Machida (162-93) who scored 10 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Taniguchi Nichika (172-96) chipped in 20 points. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. Fujitsu RW's coach BT Toews used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Sakura Noguchi (181-1) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Kuke Haruka (166-95) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Fujitsu RW have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place in East with 4-2 record having just four point less than leader Toyota A. Chanson V-M lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with four games lost. Fujitsu RW are looking forward to face Haneda Vickies (#5) in Tokyo in the next round. Chanson V-M will play at home against Niigata R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
