Regular Season Round 2: Shinshu BW - Akita NH 76-80

Very expected game in Nagano where Shinshu BW was defeated by Akita Happinets 80-76 on Sunday. Akita Happinets had a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. The former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87) chipped in 20 points. Coleby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Akita Happinets' coach Kenzo Maeda used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU, agency: Wasserman) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Tatsuya Nishiyama (171-88) added 14 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Akita Happinets will face Kyoto H. on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Shinshu BW will play against Tochigi B. and hope to win that game.
