Regular Season Round 2: Nagoya DD - Hokkaido L. 66-78

Diamond Dolphins recorded a loss in Nagoya on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Hokkaido L. 78-66. The best player for the winners was American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) produced 9 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: ASU) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hokkaido L. is looking forward to face Toyama G. on the road in the next round. Diamond Dolphins will play against Shimane Magic and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
