Regular Season Round 2: AZS UMK - Arka 2 106-112

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of AZS UMK in Torun on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Arka 2 112-106. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Arka 2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by AZS UMK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Piotr Lis (186-1) who scored 29 points and 7 assists. Michal Pluta (192-2) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists. Five Arka 2 players scored in double figures. Guard Michal Samsonowicz (188-98, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 46 points (!!!) and guard Jakub Kondraciuk (189-99) added 27 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Arka 2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. AZS UMK will play on the road against Notec Inowr. in Inowroclaw and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
