Regular Season Round 10: Astros - Panteras 89-77

No shocking result in a game in Guadalajara where third ranked Astros (6-4) defeated 5th ranked Panteras (3-7) 89-77. They outrebounded Panteras 41-20 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Astros especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Venezuelan point guard Heissler Guillent (186-86) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the effort and the former international Hector Hernandez (206-85, college: Fresno St., agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Astros players scored in double figures. Astros' coach Sergio Valdeolmillos used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Even 23 points and 5 rebounds by American center Isaiah Austin (216-93, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Panteras. The former international guard Jorge-Alfredo Casillas (192-90) added 18 points for lost side. Astros maintains third position with 6-4 record having just three points less than leader Mineros, which they share with Lenadores. Panteras lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Astros' next round opponent will be league's leader Aaguacateros in Michoacan and it will be for sure the game of the week. Panteras will play on the road against the league's second-placed Soles (#2) in Mexicali and hope to win that game.
