Regular Season Round 3: Strasbourg - Orleans 97-91
Date: October 7, 2020
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked SIG Strasbourg (2-2) defeated at home 10th ranked Entente Orleans 45 (1-2) 97-91 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. SIG Strasbourg made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when SIG Strasbourg made 7 blocks. American point guard Brandon Jefferson (175-91, college: MSU Denver) fired 28 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The other American import forward Bonzie Colson-Jr (198-96, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 24 points and 9 rebounds. SIG Strasbourg's coach Lassi Tuovi used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Armenian-American center Luke Fischer (211-94, college: Marquette) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and American point guard Paris Lee (183-95, college: Illinois St.) added 16 points (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory SIG Strasbourg went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with ASVEL. Loser Entente Orleans 45 dropped to the eleventh place with two games lost. SIG Strasbourg will face higher ranked JSF Nanterre (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Entente Orleans 45 will play against Chalons-Reims (#16) and hope to win that game.
