Regular Season Round 4: Avenida - Promete 89-49

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Perfumerias Avenida (4-0) outplayed bottom-ranked Promete (0-3) in Salamanca 89-49 on Wednesday. Perfumerias Avenida dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Promete's 20. Perfumerias Avenida forced 21 Promete turnovers and outrebounded them 38-16 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Perfumerias Avenida shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Promete's players. Quite impressive performance for American-British swingman Katie Samuelson (190-97, college: UConn, agency: Wasserman) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. American-British swingman Karlie Samuelson (183-95, college: Stanford, agency: Wasserman) contributed with 15 points and 7 assists for the winners. Forward Maria Barneda (177-98) replied with 13 points and Senegalese center Maimouna Diarra (198-91) added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Promete. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Perfumerias Avenida have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Valencia and Girona. Loser Promete still closes the standings with three games lost. Perfumerias Avenida will face Zamarat (#10) in Zamora in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Promete will play at home against Gernika (#8) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
