Fifth-ranked Panteras (3-8) were very close to win a game against second ranked Soles (8-3) in Mexicali on Thursday. Soles managed to secure only two-point victory 67-65. However their fans expected easier game. American players dominated the game. Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Inception Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Eric Garcia (183-94, college: Wofford) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Center Isaiah Austin (216-93, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) added 17 points in the effort for Panteras. Soles have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Mineros. Panteras lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with eight games lost. Soles is again looking forward to face Panteras (#5) in Aguascalientes in the next round. Panteras will have a break next round.
