But Girona was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from 64-60 on Saturday night. Viladecans dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Girona's 24. Viladecans forced 23 Girona turnovers. Quite impressive performance for power forward Silvia Marcelo (188-93) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Power forward Mireia Casanovas (179-94) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Vanessa Gonzalez (-94) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Laia Moya (182-1) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Girona. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Viladecans will face Joventut in Badalona in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Girona will play on the road against Barca CBS in Barcelona and hope to win that game.
