Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Gernika and 9th ranked Maquinaria Ensino had identical 1-2 record. This time Gernika used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Lugo 84-62 on Saturday night. Quite impressive performance for Dutch guard Laura Cornelius (173-96, college: Miami, FL) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Roso Buch (179-92) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Gernika players scored in double figures. The former international forward Vega Gimeno (185-91, college: RMU) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Dutch guard Natalie Van-Den-Adel (185-90, college: Colorado St.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Maquinaria Ensino. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gernika (2-2) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Cadi La Seu and IDK Eustotren. Loser Maquinaria Ensino dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Gernika will face Promete (#15) in Logrono in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maquinaria Ensino will play at home against Gran Canaria and hope to win that game.
