But Genero was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Azkoitia 67-48 on Saturday night. Rioja forced 24 Genero turnovers. Four Rioja players scored in double figures. Genero's coach Aday Villalba tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Rioja will face Aviles at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Genero will play against Barakaldo in Vizcaya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
