Regular Season Round 4: Ryukyu GK - Niigata A. 86-79

Not a big story in a game in Okinawa where 9th ranked Niigata A. (2-3) was defeated by fifth ranked Ryukyu GK (2-2) 86-79 on Sunday. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Niigata A. 37-24 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) who added 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. At the losing side Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American-North Macedonian center Richard Hendrix (203-86, college: Alabama) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ryukyu GK moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Niigata A. keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Ryukyu GK will face league's leader Akita Happinets on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Niigata A. will play against Shiga L-Stars (#6) and hope to win that game.
