There was a minor upset in Kanagawa where 4th ranked Osaka E. (1-3) was crushed by sixth ranked Toshiba Thunders (3-1) 88-53 on Sunday. Toshiba Thunders forced 21 Osaka E. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Osaka E.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 8 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Toshiba Thunders' coach Kenji Sato felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Toshiba Thunders have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Osaka E. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Dragonflies (#7) in Hiroshima in the next round. Osaka E. will play at home against Kyoto H. and hope to win that game.
