But Almeda was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Barcelona 60-50 on Sunday night. Barca CBS forced 19 Almeda turnovers and outrebounded them 47-31 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Almeda was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Canadian swingman Jessica Fequiere (180-93, college: Albany) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Marta Canella (178-95) contributed with 8 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Claudia Soriano (170-3) answered with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 steals and power forward Claudia Baraut (182-94) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Almeda. Almeda's coach Fernando Gordo let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Barca CBS will face Girona at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Almeda will play against Lima-Horta in Barcelona and hope to win that game.
