Regular Season Round 3: Koszalin Zak - Trefl 2 Sopot 96-61
Date: October 11, 2020
There was a small surprise when Koszalin Zak (1-1) crushed at home Trefl 2 Sopot (1-2) 96-61 on Sunday. Koszalin Zak dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Trefl 2 Sopot's 34. They outrebounded Trefl 2 Sopot 50-23 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Koszalin Zak looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Trefl 2 Sopot's players. It was a good game for naturalized American center Darrell Harris (208-84, college: URI) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds (perfect from the field making all twelve shots !!!). Guard Marcin Zarzeczny (195-87) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Koszalin Zak players scored in double figures. Point guard Hubert Lalak (176-3) answered with 12 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and forward Daniel Ziolkowski (195-2) added 16 points in the effort for Trefl 2 Sopot. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Koszalin Zak will face Astoria 2 (#7) in Bydgoszcz in the next round.
