The game in Gomel supposed to be also worth to mention about. Gorizont (2-0) played at the court of Gomel (0-2). Gorizont smashed Gomel 94-23. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gomel to just 5 points in second quarter and to 11 points in first half. Gorizont held Gomel to an opponent 13.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.4 percent accuracy of the winners and made 28-of-37 charity shots (75.7 percent) during the game, while Gomel only scored three points from the stripe. Gorizont forced 24 Gomel turnovers and outrebounded them 54-30 including a 40-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Gomel's players. Gomel was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Yana Lebedich (188-2) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Bosnian guard Irena Vrancic (165-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners. Four Gorizont players scored in double figures. Guard Maryna Rakauskaya-Minkevich (173-92) answered with 8 points and 6 rebounds and forward Arina Nabokina (184-5) added 2 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Gomel. Gomel's coach Anatol Rogozenko gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Gorizont will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gomel will play again at home against Gorizont (#1) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
