No shocking result in a game in Jiyuan where seventh ranked Blue Whales (3-1) smashed 11th ranked Henan Phoenix (1-2) 89-62 on Sunday. Blue Whales dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Henan Phoenix's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. International Ting Shao (183-89) fired 13 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard WangLai Zhang (172-94) chipped in 10 points and 7 assists. Center QI Cheng (191-99) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and international forward Ru Zhang (179-99) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Henan Phoenix players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Blue Whales moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Henan Phoenix dropped to the twelfth position with two games lost. Blue Whales will face Hebei (#16) in Hengshui in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Henan Phoenix will play against Wuhan (#18) and hope to win that game.
