Very expected game when Nantes Reze was defeated at home by Villeneuve D'Ascq 68-59 on Tuesday. 25 personal fouls committed by Nantes Reze helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and the former international Johanne Gomis-Halilovic (179-85) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Villeneuve D'Ascq's coach Rachid Meziane used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Chilean center Ziomara Morrison (194-89, agency: LBM Management) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Bosnian-Serbian swingman Sasa Cadjo (178-89) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Villeneuve D'Ascq are looking forward to face Basket Landes in Mont de Marsan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nantes Reze will play on the road against Roche in La Roche and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
