Regular Season Round 4: WKK Wroclaw - Walbrzych 75-70

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Gornik (3-1) on the court of seventh ranked WKK Wroclaw on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by WKK Wroclaw 75-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gornik. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when WKK Wroclaw made 8 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Gornik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks and forward Jakub Patoka (200-94) who added 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four WKK Wroclaw players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Maciej Koperski (190-99) responded with 17 points (made all of his seven free throws) and forward Maciej Bojanowski (200-96) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. WKK Wroclaw moved-up to third place, which they share with Walbrzych and Lowicz. WKK Wroclaw is looking forward to face Wisla Krakow (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gornik will play against the league's leader Czarni (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
