Regular Season Round 1: Pyrinto - Kouvot 99-80

Pyrinto used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Kouvola 99-80 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Pyrinto. Kouvot was better in fourth quarter 33-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was dominated by American players. Marcus Lewis (193-92, college: EKU) fired 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard David Gonzalvez (193-87, college: Richmond) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Pyrinto players scored in double figures. Forward Moses Greenwood (201-97, college: SE Louisiana) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jacoby Armstrong (201-95, college: UNH) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pyrinto will face Kataja in Joensuu in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kouvot will play at home against Ura Basket and hope to win that game.
