Regular Season Round 1: Landes - BLMA 92-71

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Gazelles in Mont de Marsan on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Basket Landes 92-71. Basket Landes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Gazelles helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Canadian power forward Miranda Ayim (191-88, college: Pepperdine) stepped up and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and international forward Valeriane Vukosavljevic (184-94) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Basket Landes' coach Julie Barennes felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Myisha Hines-Allen (188-96, college: Louisville) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Cheyenne Parker (193-92, college: MTSU) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Five Basket Landes and four Gazelles players scored in double figures. Basket Landes are looking forward to face Villeneuve D'Ascq on the road in the next round. Gazelles will have a break next round.
