LNBP top team - Aaguacateros (12-2) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat fifth ranked Panteras (4-10) in Michoacan 96-90. Aaguacateros shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American players dominated the game. Guard Donald Sims (180-87, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 6 assists. Center Jerome Meyinsse (208-88, college: Virginia) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) replied with 19 points and guard Hameed Ali (188-93, college: TAMUCC) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Panteras. Four Aaguacateros and five Panteras players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aaguacateros maintains first position with 12-2 record. Loser Panteras keep the fifth place with ten games lost. Aaguacateros will face league's second-placed Soles in Mexicali in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Panteras will play at home against Abejas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
