The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Toshiba Thunders as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Toshiba Thunders smashed 7th ranked Dragonflies in Kanagawa 99-64. Toshiba Thunders dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Dragonflies' 34. They outrebounded Dragonflies 48-28 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-89) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. International power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. American power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) added 6 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toshiba Thunders (5-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Dragonflies lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
