Regular Season Round 3: Milano - Sarcedo 95-87

There was a minor upset when Sarcedo (1-2) was defeated on the road by Milano (1-2) 95-87 on Saturday. Milano outrebounded Sarcedo 51-38 including a 40-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sarcedo's players. Sarcedo was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Croatian forward Karmen Cicic (185-94) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 20 rebounds. Arianna Beretta (180-96) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Irene Pieropan (175-91) who recorded 31 points and 5 rebounds and guard Michela Battilotti (172-0) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Milano will face Albino (#9) on the road in the next round. Sarcedo will play against Moncalieri where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
